The Estabrooks Brothers bring a toe tapping, multi-genre style to the traditional pop vocal sound of today. With so much focus on over-production and the popstar mill, they yearn to bring back the fullness of live sound. Fusing elements of Big Band brass, soaring vocals, pop and soul, The Estabrooks Brothers are sure to dazzle. With high- energy hits and touching ballads, this vocal duo is sure to bring the 'Wow Factor' back to the popular music scene.
Who would have imagined that a chance musical encounter at the Nepean Sailing Club would bring the talents of the young Bryan and Jonathan Estabrooks to Ottawa Entertainer, Dominic D'arcy and lead to a life of music. The brothers grew up with music in the family thanks to the influence of their Maritime roots and singing father.
It was at an early age that they were introduced to the music of Roy Orbison, The Beatles, The Everly Brothers, Stevie Wonder, Chicago, Elton John and the Nylons among others. Whether performing for family sing-alongs or singing on morning commutes to school it became clear that their music was destined for the stage. Never content with just one musical style, the brothers spent much of their grade school and high school years performing at countless venues throughout the Ottawa Valley. Their versatility and hunger for the stage led to principle roles with The Company of Musical Theatre, Ottawa Little Theatre and Opera Lyra Ottawa.
Bryan and Jonathan Estabrooks both received classical music training in piano and classical voice, each receiving Bachelor degrees in Canada and Masters degrees at The University of Michigan and The Juilliard School respectively.
Bryan is an accomplished songwriter, producer and arranger, mastering multiple instruments and possessing a keen sense of sound, both live and in the recording arts. He has sung for major corporate and sporting events and numerous arts organizations across Canada including the Ottawa Senators, The Ottawa Rough Riders, Michigan Opera Theatre, Opera in Concert and the Central Canada Exhibition.
As a featured soloist, Jonathan has appeared in concert for members of the United Nations, the Prime Minister of Canada, in recital at Lincoln Center, The Ethical Cultural Society and Carnegie Hall and at major corporate events. He has appeared with the National Arts Centre Orchestra, The Israeli Chamber Orchestra and the Kennett Symphony.
They have honed their skills as showmen and solidified their place as a multi-talented duo performing for a variety of events including those on Parliament Hill, the Ottawa Tulip Festival, the opening of the U.S. Embassy with President Bill Clinton in attendance, community concerts, fundraisers and telethons. The Estabrooks Brothers have a unique artistic connection that only two brothers can share. Their powerful vocals, intricate harmonies and charisma make them poised to make their mark in the Canadian and international music scene.
